1 can (14 oz / 395 g) of sweetened condensed milk (approximately 1 1/3 cups)
2 tablespoons of cocoa powder (approximately 1/6 cup)
1 tablespoon of unsalted butter (approximately 2 teaspoons)
2 ounces of semisweet chocolate (optional, approximately 2–3 tablespoons)
½ cup chopped Brazil nuts
½ cup crushed Brazil nuts (for coating
Directions
- Prepare the mixture:
In a saucepan over medium-low heat, melt the butter and add the sweetened condensed milk, cocoa powder, and semi-dark chocolate (if using). - Cook the brigadeiro:
Stir constantly with a silicone spatula or wooden spoon until the mixture thickens and pulls away from the bottom of the pan (about 10-15 minutes). - Add the Brazil nuts:
Remove from heat and mix in the chopped Brazil nuts. - Transfer the mixture to a greased plate and let it cool completely at room temperature or in the refrigerator for at least 1 hour.
- Shape the balls:
Grease your hands, roll the mixture into small balls (about the size of a walnut), and coat them in the crushed Brazil nuts.. - Serve and enjoy:
Place each brigadeiro in mini cupcake liners or on a plate and enjoy!
